Founded in 1876, and possessing the record for having the longest continuous practice of any Washington, D. C. law firm, Hamilton and Hamilton, LLP continues to provide high quality legal services to a broad range of companies and individuals.

The firm represented numerous companies at the time of their incorporation: The Catholic University of America, Southern Railway Company (now Norfolk Southern Corporation), Capital Traction Company (now the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority or WMATA), the Archdiocese for Military Services, U.S.A., and continues to serve some of them and others today.
